An Intimate Wedding at The Waters Point in Wimberley | Austin Wedding Photographer

It felt calm from the very beginning.

Not rushed. Not overwhelming. Just steady, joyful, and deeply centered on family.

Lindsey and Lee planned an intimate wedding at The Waters Point in Wimberley surrounded by the people who know them best. The kind of guests who hug tight, tear up during vows, and stay on the dance floor until the very last song. It was small in size, but full in every way that matters.

The Hill Country has a way of slowing everything down, and this day leaned into that completely.

Getting Ready at The Waters Point Wedding Venue in Wimberley

The morning unfolded gently. Windows open. Light pouring in. Laughter drifting through the rooms as everyone helped Lindsey into her dress.

There is something different about a wedding when it is intimate. Every person present carries weight. Every moment feels personal.

Lee spent the morning with his closest people, relaxed and smiling, already emotional before the ceremony even began. Those quiet anticipation moments always end up being some of my favorites to photograph as an Austin wedding photographer. They are honest and unfiltered.

A Wimberley Wedding Ceremony by The River

The ceremony space at The Waters Point sits right along the Blanco River, shaded by towering cypress trees that make everything feel tucked away and sacred.

As Lindsey walked down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Their vows were heartfelt and sincere, full of inside jokes and promises rooted in friendship. You could feel how grounded they are together.

For couples planning a Wimberley wedding, this venue offers that perfect balance of natural beauty and intentional simplicity. It does not need much added to it. The river, the trees, the open sky. It all speaks for itself.

Wimberley Wedding Portraits Along the Blanco River & Cypress Trees

After the ceremony, we wandered down to the riverbank for portraits. The light filtered through the trees in the softest way, wrapping around them as they laughed and held onto each other like the rest of the world had disappeared.

This is why I love being a Hill Country wedding photographer. The landscape does not overpower the couple. It frames them. It gives them room to breathe, to move, to just be.

Lindsey’s dress caught the light every time she turned. Lee could not stop smiling at her. Nothing forced. Nothing overly posed. Just genuine joy.

These portraits are some of my favorite images from the entire day.

An Intimate Hill Country Wedding Reception at The Waters Point

As the sun dipped lower, guests gathered under the open-air reception space at The Waters Point in Wimberley. The layout keeps everyone connected, which is perfect for a smaller guest count.

Toasts were emotional and genuine. Parents shared stories with tears in their eyes. Friends had the entire room laughing. This is what makes an intimate Wimberley wedding so powerful. The celebration feels deeply personal.

When the dancing began, the floor filled quickly. Lindsey and Lee moved through the crowd hugging family members, spinning together, and fully present in every moment. The energy built naturally, without needing anything elaborate.

Just joy. Just connection.

Why The Waters Point Is a Top Wimberley Wedding Venue

For couples planning a Wimberley wedding near Austin, The Waters Point offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. Tucked into nature yet just a short drive from the city, it brings together river views, towering trees, and an open reception space that defines the best of a Hill Country celebration.

As an Austin wedding photographer serving the Hill Country, I have seen how much a venue shapes the feeling of a wedding day. The Waters Point naturally invites couples to slow down and stay present, which makes it especially meaningful for intimate, family-centered weddings.

If you are searching for a Wimberley wedding photographer or an Austin wedding photographer for your celebration at The Waters Point, Wimberley offers a backdrop that feels relaxed, refined, and deeply personal.

Lindsey and Lee’s Wimberley wedding was not about perfection. It was about intention, family, and beginning their marriage grounded in love.

If you are planning your own Wimberley wedding in the Hill Country, I would love to document it in a way that feels natural, emotional, and completely true to you.

A huge thank you to every single vendor who made the wedding day so magical!
